Is There A Limit How Often You Can Switch?
Hi Everyone! I hope somebody can help me!
I switched my Gas & Electric to ATLANTIC (Scottish & Southern Energy Group) back in November 2005 (prior to discovering this website) and since then there was a price rise on 1st Jan and there is another one from 1st May.
I've used Martin's search suggestions and discovered Atlantic is no longer the cheapest and I can save 25% by switching.
However, I'm unsure whether there are any restrictions on how often you can switch. I'm worried it might be like a mobile phone contract and I'm stuck for another 6 months!
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Firstly look at your contract!!! IMO it's likely to be a rolling one. I think that basically you have to be with a supplier you have switched to for one month.0

I'm no expert on this, but reading quite a few threads on this in the last few days, most swicthes take approx 4 - 6 weeks to go through, and so I would have thought you could switch shortly after this.
I think Martin recomends reviewing AT LEAST annually, but then his email alerts normally let you know when the bills are likely to rise, and when to switch or not.

I agree but if the cooling off period has passed, ehich it will before the 4/6weeks has elapsed, you have to stay fpr a month.rubix_76 wrote:I'm no expert on this, but reading quite a few threads on this in the last few days, most swicthes take approx 4 - 6 weeks to go through, and so I would have thought you could switch shortly after this.
