Thinking of just paying it off to avoid this hassle..

Hi,

I have some bank charges on a Lloyds TSB account (arond £150). I had written the letters etc to Lloyds, but they aren't budging. The only way they said that I could prevent any more charges going on was to set up a payment plan, which I have, paying £10 a month.

Received a letter a while ago stating charges were to go on again (after the plan was set up), and again this morning to say another £215 charges were to go on. (called and got this reversed as they had not set up payment plan properly).

I'm so tempted just to pay money into the account just to save myself this hassle, don't think I can cope with the stress! I didn't want to pay out of principle, but surely if this is affecting my credit rating and constantly getting letters saying charges will be applied it would be better just to pay it?

Thanks!

If you are on a payment plan then you shouldn't receive further charges. If you have put a letter for the charges back and they have acknowledged it then once the OFT test case issues are over then you should get the money back.

I know, they took the charges off, or so they said - if they haven't taken them off by 3rd August I've to phone back!

But the issue really is that do I want to wait until the test case is over?? as goodness knows how long that could take plus I don't really want to be on a 'payment plan' until then because it will show up on my credit report?

If you can pay it off then pay it off but nothing stops you reclaiming the charges.
