Withdrawing Cash in branch?

Hi there, wondering if anyone can help, this might seem a bit of a basic question but I've never in my life withdrawn money from in-branch!

My g/f has had her debit card nicked by someone, it's been cancelled and new one is being issued. But that won't arrive till next week.
What does she need to withdraw funds from her account in branch? I don't think she has a special book (I seem to remember getting one about five years ago).

Can she take in some form of ID etc?

It's a bit of a complicated situation because she can't sort it out herself because shes in the Army a long way from a bank :E

Surely she has a cheque book? Just write in the payee bit "Self" and the bank will give you cash.

Also she must have a paying-in book, take that along with ID, passport or driving license, explain and they will have records on computer that a new card has been order and previous one cancelled.

EDIT: Just read your question again, and you will be withdrawing the money on her behalf....... sorry yes that does make it more compliated, I don't think you can withdraw from someone elses account. I think you may have to talk to the bank themselves and see what they can do...sorry!

    Hope that helps.

Sorry should have made it clearer; she can't get to the bank at the moment but she's home this weekend, but the new card won't have arrived as yet.
As for having a cheque book / Paying-in book etc I'm not too sure, the account was opened in a hurry when she joined the Regs, and all her stuff at home has been bundled into a big box in the loft :E

The only other thing that I think you would help is a bank statement and proof of ID.

Is there a nearby branch of her bank that would be open on Saturday that she could visit? If she can take in ID to prove who she is and details of her account (e.g. a statement) it would be a lot easier than you trying to do it on her behalf.

It is time to register for online banking. If she had online access, she could transfer money to your account and you could draw the money.

If she is coming home this weekend all she needs to do is, go in with ID of a Driving License or Passport and speak to the custoner services desk asking them to withdraw cash. They will give her a slip with her account number on etc after going through security questions. Just take the slip to the cash desk then asking to withdraw money.
