Holiday in Cornwall

Hi all,
I am looking into getting a holiday together for a few friends (probably about 8 of us) and wondering if anyone has any tips on where to go.
I am looking into Cornwall as I love the place. Newquay is a possibility, but a tad mainstream... and Woolacombe is another possibility.
Wherever we go will need somewhere for us to go out at night (20/21 year olds - not every night, but you know what I mean!), close to a beach, and cheapish. I like the idea of a holiday cottage or something similar as opposed to camping (only at festivals!) or youth hostels, but don't know if we will be allowed to stay due to our age.
Thanks guys!

Sorry to tag along on this thread but I'm also currently looking for a holiday cottage just for two along the northern coast of Cornwall - any suggestions would be of great help, I do have a strict budget though.
Ta! (Hope Andy finds something soon too!)End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt

Hiya, how about; http://www.bertieslodge.co.uk/?gclid=CKin29_i0psCFUYA4wodjENFKg it's right in the centre of Newquay and 'attached' to the nightclub (there's various discounts if you stay with them too). Also shouldn't be any problems with your ages as I guess this is what they cater for! I do agree with you though about Newquay being mainstream - I lived in Bodmin for many years and this was our night out of choice at 15! Maybe have a look at Truro - I hear the nightlife is very good and you could always stay down the road in Falmouth (gorgeous beaches). HTH!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0

Right ladies n gents I have just the website for you. I have been to cornwall several times this year and have used this website and they are brill!
http://www.cornwall-online.co.uk/
Lets you search for properties in different areas, its brill!
Andy - are you looking for nightclubs or just nice resturants n bars? Padstow is a lovely village I've stayed in and would reccomend it as there's always things to do, plus you can get elsewhere very easily.
Ebony - What about tintagel - great place to go, or are you looking further down? How many people are going as I may have a good little cottage for you!:xmastree:Christmasaholic and proud! :xmassmile0 -
Inkedkitten - Maybe a club once, but mainly just pubs and stuff to be honest. Nightclubs are extremely repetitive, and nothing beats a pint in the pub in my books. I have been to Padstow once before, as well as St Ives (most amazing place in Britain if you ask me!). Thanks for the advice!
thevicster - Falmouth, great idea! I have heard amazing things about it! And yes, 15 year olds are my pet peeve! Trying to get away from the ones that hang around here! I thought Truro was quite a bit inland though?0 -
no probs! that websites good though! have a gander see if you find anything

Inkedkitten - thanks for your help! It would only be two of us - me and a friend - so the cottage can be small - or hotel room whihc ever but I would prefer a cottage. I don't mind whereabouts in Cornwall it is - Tintagel sounds lovely anyway - would be great to have a beach close by but I'll be driving so not too much of a worry

Andy seems to me for your age you are very mature and reasonable!! Wanting a quiet pint over a club - unheard of and very refreshing!End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt

I just don't see the point in paying a fiver to get into a club, £4 a drink and then having to shout to your mates about how rubbish the music is! Nothing wrong with it every now and again, but not every thursday and friday night - I think i'd tear my hair out!0

Ebonylight - I used this website the first time I went and stayed in Kerensa - plus they've put the price up so maybe worth looking elsewhere! Anyway!

Though it does have a double bed, so you may want to look elsewhere, maybe give the lady an email if she knows of anything, say a past customer put you in touch may help!:xmastree:Christmasaholic and proud! :xmassmile0 -

Hello - the other half and I are looking to go to Cornwall for a week at the end of October. Looking ideally for a cottage for just the two of us, nearish a pub, and nearish some nice walks along beaches etc. I don't know the area very well but OH does and he thinks we should go to North Cornwall? Any advice?
I would be grateful if anyone could recommend any nice and not expensive cottages too - obviously on a pretty tight budget between us (although I think he's taking me for my bday - yay more money for lovely food and wine!).
Thank you all v much.
