Hello,
I signed up to Equifax so that I could view my credit report however I am trying to contact them to cancel the subscription before the first payment comes out. I have tried ringing on several occassions and I am either on hold for 15+ minutes or I get an automated message to say they are busy.
I really want to cancel this but I dont know how else to go about it, has anyone else had this trouble? What did you do?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Vary the time at which you ring?
Also, don't they also have a fax and secure e-mail facility? When I cancelled (a couple of years ago) I took a belt and braces approach and used all 3 methods.0 -
I am either on hold for 15+ minutes
But after 15 minutes... do you get through?
This is Britain... being on hold 15 or even 30 minutes on an 0871 number is normal! You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
I cancelled with no problem at all, just try calling at a different time as suggested0

I have tried ringing at several different times in the day, i.e first thing and last thing and i am not getting any where. As i am at work I dont want to get in trouble for being on the phone for so long. I was holing on for 30 minutes this morning and got fed up. I will see if i can find an email address for them and try that approach.
I dont think i would use them again they seem like more trouble than they are worth when you actually want to speak with someone.
Thanks for your help.0 -
I recently cancelled one. After being unable to contact them by phone, I searched their website and found that you can do it through their FAQs. The questions says "I have a question about cancelling". It will tell you how to let them know online. You'll get a couple emails telling you about the benefits of being a member, but they do cancel it straight away.0

cancel the direct debit through your bank
then send an email
Also, if you've signed a contract, then cancelling the direct debit through your bank does not relieve you of the obligations of the contract - they will be legally entitled to get the money out of you some other way.
Best to cancel the proper way. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I cancelled online via their ask a question (as described above).
