can't help with your query s@sha I just wanted to say how sad I think it is that three years on from the start of the thread and we're no further forward.

S@sha - perhaps if you contact the schools the meeting will have been minuted, and you could get a copy of those?

The intention with whitchurch high now is to start shrinking it by making it take less classes per year. the year 7 will be smaller in a couple of years, then every year 7 after that will be smaller too. That will mean there's more students left over to fill up the other comps. There's also something about the 3 primary schools becoming 2, but I'm not sure about that...
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

Hi I was at the meeting at Whitchurch High School. I think it had been arranged to test the waters - to judge how much parental support could be drummed up. To cut a long story short, it is almost inevitable that the plans will be passed. At that point, they will have to go out to consultation and everyone will have their chance to object, if they wish. Jane Davies will then need to be involved. Until then, there's little to be done. Basically, we were told to wait until the consultation process was underway.

On a personal note, my two eldest will be doing A levels but my youngest will just be starting WHS. My main concern is that this may be the first step towards making it an 11 to 18 school on the same site. Having taught in a school with a split at the end of Yr 9, I firmly believe that it's very beneficial to the pupils.
