How can I find out this information?

Hi everyone -

Not sure if this is in the right place, but how would I go about finding out information about someone?

Basically, I want to find out what business someone has set up. I have their full name and address but do not know the name of the business, although I do know the nature.

Any idea how I could find this out? Thanks!

Thanks, I've tried Companies House - but it seems you need to pay for this?

What would google maps show me?

You only pay a pound £1 it's hardly going to break the bank is it?

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

You could always call and ask.

Or if you don't want to speak to them just see what they say when they answer the phone

Some info is listed free on Companies House, depends if you have the correct details, if not, a small fee as ABH says is worth it, depending on why you need the info in the first place..!

Thanks for the sarcy reply, but the one I was referring to mentioned a monthly ongoing fee.

It wasn't intended to be 'sarcy' (sarcastic I assume), I was purely amazed that you thought it was some large amount. Go here: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ then click on 'Web Check', or go here: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/contact/contactUs.shtml ask the guy on the phone how to perform a search, ask him to talk you through it, he'll be happy to assist. At least he was for me the other week when I conducted a few searches.

Oh yes and here's a price list: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/toolsToHelp/ourPrices.shtml
