Balance Transfer Query

Hi there, I am coming to the end of my 0% deal with Barclaycard and have an approximately balance of £1600. I have paid off my MBNA card this month (paid £5000 which left £500) so this is my remaining CC debt. I also have £300 on an Argos card on six months interest free credit.
Yesterday I received 2 credit card cheques from a live but unused AA credit card account. I can either have 0% for six months on a 3% fee or 3.94% for the life of the balance plus 3% fee. Alternatively I can have both 'for greater flexibility'.
To be honest, I'm a bit confused about which option to go for.
Any help appreciated.
Also, does it matter that I've balance transferred last month (the remaining £500 from the MBNA account to Barclays (on a 0% to December).
I can, and do, overpay quite a bit but I want to keep my options open.
Thank you.

  • I would leave an amount on the barclaycard equal to what you will be able to pay off before the 0% runs out and transfer the rest to the life of balance deal. If you were to put it on the 0% deal you would probably have to transfer again incurring a further cost, so the life of balance sounds best to me.
