In real terms now I think there are some fantastic deals around, especially for 32" tv's. I can't really see them dropping much further, £250 possibly for a top make. I think i paid about £250 for an old crt almost 25 years ago - how much is that in todays world.
Instead of dropping further I think they will just give more spec. and add ons (DVD player, coffee maker etc.).
A great time to buy a tv.

Could say the same about my Goodmans CRT television.... had it 9 years and still going strong......
Cheaper doesn't always mean worse.... its like people who bang on about Fiats being crap because a friend of a friend of a friend owned one 100 years ago and it broke down once....
The constant brand snobbery amazes me... 10 / 20 years ago maybe but today they are probably all made in the same factory by the same low paid chinese workers with virtually the same components.
Don't get me wrong, if I wanted a TV and the same size Sony was only £20 more than a Bush then i'd get Sony every time.... but I wouldn't pay well over the odds for one brand over a lesser brand.
It's not snobbery, just simple facts . There is a reason why certain LCD's cost more than others and it's not all down to advertising/branding - best way to choose a tv is to go and look at them displayed side by side in somewhere like the comet/currys bigger stores.0 -
I know the one dds got was £99 - it was one of the cheapie ones, and in all honestly its 4/10 rateing, unless u sit straight on the picture is blurry, but for a kids rm.
The one we've got downstairs is Sony 26in hdtv, pd £349.00 last yr from Amazon (the same model on Sonys own website was £499), cant fault it.
Even 6mths later there coming down in price xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
2 of the last 4 tv's I've bought were Sonys, 1 a Philips (an disappointing expensive Philips) and Sony wins for me. The other was a small 15" Toshiba which was also excellent, had a very good picture - that was about £250 as well about 5 years ago. Donated and still going strong.
