Forget it. Germany is way more expensive! And you can only get the tax back if you are visitors from outside fo the EU.

Errm - bit of a vague question! Any good shops in Northern England? ;)

I frequently visit Germany and often find electrical items to be cheaper - not as cheap as they seem to be in the USA, though. You'd pay normal VAT (16% I think is the rate in Germany), but not aware of getting anything tax free, assuming you live in the EU.

lol looking back at it it is a bit vague! :o
Partner in forces so don't know if that'll make a difference, a few people have said it's a bit cheaper.
I haven't got a clue! but i'm sure we'll find out in a few weeks

I'd say electrical items are cheaper. Obviously it depends on what you're buying and where. There are often many good offers to be had, for example at Media Markt and Real Kauf. Food, drink, etc. is definitely considerably cheaper over there.
