Since getting rid of McAfee yesterday morning, after only 24 hours with Kaspersky, I can definitely see that my computer is running so much faster. Why is this? Even when the Kasperskyis installing updates, it doesn't seem to affect the computer at all, whereas it used to grind to a standstill with McAfee.

It is absolutely brilliant:T

Reason? Well I haven't used McAfee in quite a while but last I did I found it quite buggy, ineffective and rather conflictive (is that a word?) with everything else. So I also found it quite slow. I think it's just rather poorly written software or it just unfortunately doesn't play well with a lot of systems. Maybe they don't concentrate on optimising their code because like Norton/Symantec they've already got such a captive audience with huge market share and big retailer/manufacturing bundling deals.

    Just my opinion.

I completely agree with scraper (Save perhaps I think it should be 'conflicting' :p)

Well looked it up (because that's how sad I am) and they're both perfectly acceptable adjectives (think I was just trying to avoid it sounding like I was using it as a verb). :T
