SuperAntiSpyware - no updates?

Every time I switch my laptop on a pop-up box appears telling me that there are updates available for SuperAntiSpyware. When I click on "download and install updates" a box opens, headed "available updates" but it is empty! This has gone on for a month or so now.
Any ideas?

Ditch it and get AVG free from this site.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

avg is a crap anti-virus anyway, and it doesnt have an antispyware module in the free version afaikinmypocketnottheirs wrote: »Ditch it and get AVG free from this site.
i think malwarebytes (antispyware) and avira antivir (antivirus) are 2 of the best av/as scanners around personally.0 -
My Norton 360 is about to run out, and I had decided to go for Kaspersky after recommendations on here. I didn't realise antivirus packages included anti-spyware software, but if they do, is Kaspersky okay for that?

Having read your post I've just tried to update mine and no problems.Bogof_Babe wrote: »My Norton 360 is about to run out, and I had decided to go for Kaspersky after recommendations on here. This suggests that yours is corrupted in some way so would suggest you uninstall it and download and reinstall it afresh.
It is generally thought to be one of the best protections for your computer.
I run it along with Avast as an AV, Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D and alternate which I run.
Others with more knowledge will probably be along soon but I def suggest you just uninstall and re-install Superantispyware, not ditch it altogether.0 -
providing you get KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) then you should have the lot (AV/AS/Firewall/Spam filter etc)Bogof_Babe wrote: »My Norton 360 is about to run out, and I had decided to go for Kaspersky after recommendations on here. Yes I was worried about getting rid of Norton as I understand it is a pain in the proverbial. Thanks for the link, when the time comes (still got 17 days) I will do that.
I've only had SuperAntiSpyware on here for about a month, since AlienErik suggested it to sort out my other problems. Surprised if it is malfunctioning so soon

It does sometimes take forever to load up and then display the updates.Bogof_Babe wrote: »Yes I was worried about getting rid of Norton as I understand it is a pain in the proverbial. Thanks for the link, when the time comes (still got 17 days) I will do that.

How long have you left it?
Probably about three mins, maybe five. Is that not enough?
