English Regional MS boards?

I would definately agree, a London board would be wonderful
I have loads of area specific London bargain knowledge and I fleetingly see others who do too!
Ive seen the brighton specific and milton keynes epic threads, and think London would be just too big to attempt a thread like that- plus would be unweildy.
Eg cheapest 5* hotel
cheapest way from stations to airports
best hiardressers
and one Ive really needed- variance between vets costs
and so many more!
Definately would liven up the regional section of this site that it times feels like shouting into a cave:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
It would make it so much easier to find relevant info and I'm sure more would make use of the boards if split in that way.
So we could have sub-boards for:
North West
North East
East Midlands
West Midlands
South East
South West
Eastern
London
South West
Yorkshire (and Humber)
Have I missed anywhere?
This would also be really useful to look at when visiting a different region!0 -

There is very little turn over on this board in relation to the rest of the site. If we had local boards we may well go down to one post a month on some and then people wouldn't bother reading at all.
However, the team take all suggestions on board so contact them and ask them to put it in their 'to be considered' file.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As the local MS board is split into England as a whole, why can't it then be split down into regions? I would like to see specific regional boards - London, North West, South East and so on.
We are much bigger as a whole than NI!
Anybody agree?
Not regional, should look at sub regional to have any meaning - i live in Warwickshire so if in West Mids, something in Stoke or Staffs isnt any real relevence to me.
If you look at NetMums etc they have sub regional boards that are a better reflection of life and work travel patterns - so in my case it would be Coventry & Warwickshire.0 -
here! here! we need boards divided into regions & for london into postcodes!
It's a big place y'know!!! xx0 -
Oh OK, I get the hint!
But I still think it would encourage more people to post local money saving tips if they were easier to find, and in doing that would increase traffic to the local boards as well. I often find a local bargain (or offer) and think about posting it, but know in the England board it would just get swallowed up and wouldn't reappear easily as it wouldn't appeal to anybody not living locally.
So I'll add this to my list of bad ideas...0 -
Maybe it depends tho
If it was laid out like more of a directory it might work better- maybe a gateway through to another page. If we replicated that around the country - then it could work like a directory. If you have a look at the directory on the top of the old syle board- it might work a bit like that??
For example, a goood thread would be- whihich London market is best? we would get some really good ideas. Where are the best garden centres in Yorkshire? Where is the cheapest place to get a good MOT need Bradford? all these quaestions are SO useful to all of us but with the site being so big, it skims over all that local knowedge of money saving that really we need to share and wed all benefit from !
I think its a great idea, and something has to liven this part of the site up, I agree the turnover atm is really slow and probably as bit pointless - looking. This could be brilliant, really getting the best out of moneysavers local knowledge:T
Sorry im not explaining myself very well! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

One advantage of one big board is that you might see a question about an area you don't live in, but either know or used to live in. I sometimes add to threads on that basis.Signature removed for peace of mind0

i think this is a good idea. i also think that yorkshire would be the most frequented sub-board.0
