Ryanair - Credit/Debit Card charges!

Hi,
Ihave just booked flights to Valencia with Ryanair.(Newcaste-dublin-Valencia - return) I used my Nationwide Debit Card to pay. I knew the charge was 40p per passenger per flight, it is clearly stated on their website. However on receiving the email confirmation, I find I have been charged £1.75p pppf, which apparently is their CREDIT card charge. (total £14.00 instead of £3.20 assuming I am getting my maths correct) It is impossible to get through on their 0871 number at 10p per minute. It has been terminated twice at 6minutes 30 secs. so incurring costs for absolutely zilch! Does anyone have an address or email please? The alternative number on saynoto0870 (Dublin) gets you nowhere. I don't mind paying the charges listed but I hate being ripped off with what seems no access to recourse! Regards - Sallysaver

Don't waste money talking to Ryanair. Talk to Nationwide about this unauthorised amount being taken from your card.

When I've purchased flights online, though, the flight booking confirmation clearly states the total cost including the card fees - is this not the case with Ryanair? If you knew the total amount before you pressed "accept" or whatever, it's hard luck even if the wrong amount was charged IMHO*.

    * By which I mean that Nationwide won't be interested and it's not going to be worth pursuing with Ryanair.

Is the nationwide card a visa debit card?
I suspect youve chosen the wrong box. There is a box for visa debit/delta card @40p per flight and a box for Visa @ £1.75 per flight (being the credit card)

Theres no way I`m defending Ryanair here but as you enter each different method of card payment, as you get to the final booking page, the price does change right in front of your eyes depending on which card you`re going to use.
The price is clearly displayed and when you click "confirm booking" even then a warning box pops up to to ask you if you want to go ahead.
