Paypal refund - will it go into my bank?

I bought/paid for an item in june never arrived. Anyhow it says on my transactions that the seller has refunded me. The money came out of my bank so will it go back into my bank?

Just wondering as it is not showing in my paypal account and the dispute is still open which I thought would of closed as they refunded.

Thanks

If you paid from a bank account, the money will go straight back into your bank account- it will go through the paypal account but it wont stay there.

The dispute will need to have ended for that to happen, but you only need to stop the dispute when you have been refunded (not before) so this would leave two options:
    1. the seller refunds you and ends the dispute
    2. paypal realise the seller is in the wrong/not communicating and refunds you itself and the dispute ends.

If you end the dispute yourself without being refunded first, you lose this claim for the return of the money.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to wait for the refund to go in my bank which may take a few days then I will close the dispute. I've also just recieved an email off Ebay saying this :

But the thing is I messaged the seller on ebay earlier on. I just mentioned the dispute as they were quite rude on it and I said I do not appreciate it and i will not tolerate it. I never got a reply back so I am quite confused about this email.

So how come the last time this happened to me the refund stayed in my PayPal account and I had to do some more selling to increase my balance (so generating revenue for Ebay and PayPal) or be forced pay a fee to withdraw as it was below £50?? I had paid straight from my bank account not from my PayPal account yet the refund didn't go back into my bank account. I got stroppy with PayPal at the time but I never got a coherent answer back from them
