Hi Emma, yes the survey was done today and I know credit checks have been run as they are showing on our experian reports.
Our mortgage broker seems o think that if valuation is fine , the mortgage offer whould be with our solicitor by Friday which seems rather quick to me, but we shall see! Of course, maybe they will yet reject us and we will lose survey fee etc...

When we applied for a mortgage, the credit checks were done before the valuation was carried out,

Yes, our credit checks have been done, they are showing on experian but it seems from others responses, that we could still fall at another hurdle!

    Isn't it mighty stressful?

    Brilliant.

Have to say I am slightly nervous as 8 years ago we applied for a mortgage with Halifax and all went smoothly until it went to the underwriter who said it was fine BUT they would only lend us 3/4 of the agreed sum!

Can't wait til this is over, I need some sleep!

i know haha im living on my nerves, when the broker said it was going to the underwriters i felt my stomach turn. She said she will ring tomorrow if mortgage offer is issued and i cant relax till then.Im never buying a house again! If halifax let you down last time how come you are going with them again? did the broker recommend them?

Yes they were recommended and we've had several mortgages in between - we move around a lot!
