If mortgage lender is doing valuation, can we assume we passed credit checks?

Nothing more to add other than title really, but if the valuation of the property is going ahead on Monday, can we assume we have passed the credit checks required for our mortgage? Presumably they would not do the valuation unless they felt we were in a position to proceed?

It most likely means that it has passed the initial credit score.
Once valuation and other references come in I would expect them to re-score it.
Half way there.0 -
Thank you, fingers crossed for a few more days then!0

It depends on the lender. Abbey, for example don't send out the valuer until all of the checking has been done, including all of the underwriting.
Who is your lender?0 -
Our lender is Halifax...0

Ah ok thank you, am so stressed by all this, can't wait until we can relax! Another couple of weeks or so yet then I guess!0

Don't mean to worry you but the Halifax approved our mortgage and ordered the valuation. They then did more checks and our mortgage was refused because about 4 and a half years ago I had a default registered against me (didn't know about it til now)! So the answer would be yes they do more checks before the final offer of mortgage!0

Anyone know about how Britannia operate? They've taken the survey money and done a credit check already, would they do another?0

Yikes ok, looks likely we could still be rejected then.
Thanks for all your help.0 -
Hi I applied with Halifax last week and broker said it was accepted and no more info required subject to survey. The survey was instructed immediatley but finally done on fri pm.I have rang halifax tomight and they said survey results will be on system tomorrow but usually if all is well a mortgage offer will be sent out rather than the survey results? Keep us up to date with your application,by the way has your survey been done yet thanks emma0
