I hope we have some people here who can guide me with a tripod I've just picked up.
Its a Optex T-300
looks like this, with this kind of head on it.

Its a sliding type head with a quick release thingy. I want to be able to use my digi camera on it so is there some kit that could convert the sliding head to a head with a camera screw in type?
Or are all these tripod heads universal? I can see a large screw going through the head to keep it attached, is it just a case of taking this off and replacing with a suitable head?
If someone could direct me in the right way.....???

The shoe will attach to the bottom of your camera, then clip on to the tripod head.
The shoe is the piece with the 2 pins sticking up, one will have a thread the other will be a plain pin that my be on a spring. To release this foot there should be a lever looks like the one near the pan tilt arm in the picture shown. When the shoe is fixed to the camera this allows the camera to be atached to the tripod and removed quickly without having to screw it to the tripod.
The only slight problem will be if the shoe is bigger than the digi camera.0 -
Sorry, I forgot to mention.
The 'flat plate' or shoe? bit doesnt have any screws pointing up. Its completely flat, with just a sliding type quick release.
I've just taken that master screw out, the whole head just lifts off. I'm wondering if something like this would fit?
