No - My NC10 is just as fast as my GF's laptop.

Is it the internet page loading speed, or the button itself?

Something not right. I've had an aspire and there was no sluggishness.

    any overheating issues ?

they are known to overheat,.opened one up due to over heating problems, and the major cause was dust packed up by the heatsink= low air flow,

    download benchmark software, post results,
  • I too have an NC10 and no problems there.

check for spyware vurii and all the normal stuff, check for rootkits , read the Malware topics,

also the problem with these Acer laptops is they have ALOT of Acer support programs running on them, which bogs them down, they can run much fast with out this crap,

How are you connecting your netbook and your desktop PC to the router-you need to compare like with like, are they both ethernet or both wireless? The speed of opening a web page has more to do with the speed of your internet connection than the speed of your computer.

Netbooks are built around solid state memory technology. There should be no problems with them. Do the general diagnostics first like degrag your machine, do a disk clean up, remove any unwanted files.

    ........

if you dont find anything please post all relevant info like HDD space, RAM installed, Max RAM, Operating sys.
The 150s come with a traditional hard drive (this one is 120 Gig) rather than a SSD

Max RAM is 1.5GB - dj9928 - did you install additional 1GB yourself?

ALthough the decent ones are ideal for web use, let's face it, Netbooks aren't ever going to be as fast as a decent laptop. They aren't meant as a replacement computer, nor a constant use laptop, they were designed for using the internet on the go and basic tasks. They key strengths are simplicity, portability and long battery life. I think a lot of people buy them thinking they are a super-portable "laptop". For 100 to 200 more you can get a fast Core 2 Duo laptop. Depends on what you need.
