dongle and router problem

I had to reformat my desktop a couple of days ago and I have had to reinstall my wireless router, however despite the router and dongle both working they don't seem to be reading each other, one minute I have full signal, the next nothing and I cant get online, I had it all set up on the same computer working perfectly before the reformat and I have installed the same software again apart from the new version of Norton which I have uninstalled now anyway in case they were conflicting, but no change. The wireless is working perfectly as it always has done on my laptop. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice. Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean the laptop connection is fine, and only the PC with the dongle has an issue?
This would point to a dongle driver problem. Perhaps you can find an update?Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -
yes, sorry if it wasn't clear that is what I meant, thanks for the advice:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Why can't you go online with your laptop to check for driver updates? If there are any, copy them to a USB flash drive and transfer to your desktop PC.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
