Rust removal from brick?

I am buying a house and noticed that the metal flue cover / guard has rusted part of the brickwork underneath it. Does anyone know the best way to remove these stains (without damaging the brickwork).

high you want to get some hydrocloric acid or rust and cement/limescale remover i think you can get it from bnq for about a tenner works a treat even on patios toilets decking0
