How do you store your long necklaces??

I have a jewellery tree. Got it on eBay - it looks like an actual tree (obviously a small one!), is painted white and has loads of 'branches' to hang stuff on. It stands on my dressing table and I've wrapped fairy lights around it so it looks really pretty. Ikea do jewellery trees too, in loads of different colours. You could also look on eBay for wholesale jewellery displays. I used these when I made and sold my own jewellery - they're really cheap and useful but look a bit plasticky, and are usually black and grey (yuck!)!0

Thanks everyone, loads of good ideas! I looked up the jewellery tree and ebay and it's so pretty but not tall enough, I'm thinking maybe I could mount it on top of something else to make it higher.
I've had a bit of a sort out and the longest of my necklaces is about 250mm long when doubled up - and I have 22 of them
Gonna get designing and probably make my own custom made solution haha.

I hang mine from the double rail on the inside of the wardrobe door that was designed to take ties. One of those tie hanger thingies would do the job as well. Oh, just thought of that. Must buy one.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

I have over 200 pieces of jewellery. I used to be a designer so most are handmade. Storage is a nightmare - I use the tree for my 'flavours of the month' and store the rest in jewellery boxes and rolls.0 -
Wow 200? I don't have quite that much, about 100 pieces in all but earrings are far easier to keep! I just get so fed up of having loads of unused stuff that I can't be bothered to use because its all tangled up and messing so am trying to declutter and make them all a bit more accessible! Doesn't help not having a dressing table either.
Thanks for all the suggestions you've given me some good ideas

I have a cork board from Wilkinson and some lovely coloured pins from Wilkinson too. I put some of the necklaces up on this using the pins and it's propped up on my dressing table, but you could also hang it on the wall. The boards come in different sizes..This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

for mine i found a kind of hanging basket thing, made of white metal, with two baskets on it, the small one at the top is for hairbands, linked over, and I keep all my beaded necklaces in the larger bottom one, I think it's technically for plants outside, but looks loverly on my bedroom wall..For the long chain type necklaces, an overdoor hanger in the spare room at the mo, but I plan to put hooks inside my wardrobe doors instead for tht, and use the door hanger for long handbags instead, as I now have about 50 lol..0

I may have a solution for you. This idea worked for me so you may want to give it a go.
I have a tall thin built in cupboard and I attached short lengths of plastic coated wire to the back of the door. You need the kind of wire they used to hold net curtains up with. Because its quite stretchy it gives and you just need to pop the necklaces behind it. You can use two lengths if you like so the longer ones can be kept behind two lengths. This stops them flopping about when you open the door, but its easy to see what youve got so you can get at them quickly.
I used the same idea to hold my husbands ties on the back of our pine wardrobe door. It works with belts as well.
The wire is really cheap and if you go to somewhere like Wilkinsons then you can just buy as much as you need, along with the hooks and eyes to go with it.
Hope I've explained it properly!:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
Hey thanks for those ideas! I'm going to sit down tomorrow and do a bit of sketching, I trained as a product designer but haven't actually designed anything for myself for a while so I'm going to get my design brain cells into gear and make something over the holidays to keep me busy I think!

Do let us know what you come up with! There's definitely a gap in the market for something - I'm thinking of having a row of shaker-style pegs across one bedroom wall.......[0
