Applying For Finance During Clearing

I'm going to have to apply to uni' through Clearing.

I intend to do this at the first possible opportunity.

How does this affect applying for student loans/grants? Can I apply for it now, or do I wait untill I'm accepted by a uni'?

Will I receive my financial notification before the course starts on 14/9?

Any advice would be great!

Apply now. When it asks what course and uni, put in most likely. Simples.

If you end up not going, you don't get the money. If you end up going and enroll, you get the money.

The sooner you sort it out, the more likely you will get the money soon after you start.

I think you might need to know the definite uni you're attending. I think otherwise it'll take longer to sort it out if you go elsewhere. I applied for my loan in late August 2 years ago and I got the money in early November. But it would have been about a month sooner if it weren't for a hundred postal strikes happening around that time!

I applied in August after clearing 4 years ago, and had the money by late Sept.

No problem, the system may have changed since then though?

If that were the case people wouldn't be able to apply until August 16th, when results are released and definates are confirmed.

Pick a uni, pick course. complete change of circs when you know where you're definitely going. this is exactly the same as if you didn't get into your first choice and had to change your university after results day.
