Halifax Credit Card Application

Hi I have just had a Halifax all in one credit card with 0% on purchases for the last 9 months. This card has now been cancelled due to the promotion on purchases running out. I have been informed by Halifax if I wanted to re-apply for one I should wait 30 days, as if I apply before this time my credit rating may be affected due to them thinking my previous account is still open and as a result rejecting the new application. The guy on the phone said that 85% - 90% of people who apply before the 30 days will be rejected.
Is this information correct?
Thanks in advance

Yes.
Unlike credit searches and an increasing number of online and telephone credit card applications (those which give instant decisions and credit limits) which appear on your credit file more or less in real time, closure of a cc account can take a month or more, so allow plenty of timePeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
P.S. It's advisable to check your credit reports to make certain the account is actually closed down and marked "settled" before you re-applyPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0

Really? Does it mean you can reapply for the Halifax One Card after 30 days? If yes I'm going to do that! (my purchase interest free period running out end of this month, will be paying in full then closing)0
