Hi
Not sure I have the right board, apologies if I don't !!!
Where can I find a reasonable priced and sturdy paste board suitable for using at Craft fairs ? Also, how do I find events to sell my cards and giftwrap at ? I have only just started doing this and when I look in my local papers, the events are so close that they are already booked up
I look forward to your answers !

I'm not sure where you are situated, but a lot of the craft fairs do get booked pretty quickly. Some won't take bookings from too many of the same type of sellers & there always seem to be more card sellers than any other craft.
I've got friends who sell cards & what they now do it book a table at school fairs & the like & do reasonably well at these as there isn't so much competition. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Lidl have some trestle tables as their specials this week, I think I remember reading.
If you are planning on doing craft fairs, it would be as well to invest in the best you can afford because it will be taking a lot of wear and tear.

Paste tables are usually a bit rickety, have you seen the banqueting type tables ?
We got one years ago from Staples and it has been used for car boots, family dining occasions etc, our paste table would not stand the pace.0 -
I hope you're not all going dizzy but it's time for a move again.;)
I'll move this thread over to the 'Ebay & other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales' board, where it should get more views and responses.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I've seen them for sale in Wilko's before. Not sure if they would be sturdy enough for your purposes, though, but it might be worth having a look.0

Quite a lot of craft fairs actually supply a table. If you do need to get one yourself, B and Q used to sell a superior quality pasting table that was many times stronger than the usual sagging in the middle type. Mind you, cards are quite light so you could probably get away with a much lighter table than if you were selling heavy items.0

Hi Bek,
I used to do a lot of craft fairs, selling jewellery and painted glass. I had a lot of display stands which were quite heavy and I used a pasting table with quite a thick top, which I think I bought from Homebase. It was used a lot and it didn't fall to bits, it's still OK now.
I used to go to local craft fairs and find out who organised them, speak to the organiser and get on their waiting list. I also got listings from some of the craft magazines. I would tend not to bother with the fairs where the organiser charges an entry fee to the public to get in - I tried some of these and they didn't do as well, people are reluctant to pay just to get in and have a browse.
I don't know where you live, but see if you can find out about any agricultural-type shows or fairs at stately homes etc in your area, they very often have a craft marquee at them.
A lot of the fairs in my area have stopped operating because there wasn't much money to be made out of them, the only person who made any money was the organiser! If you can find a local shop that will stock your cards you might end up doing more business. I also rented a small space in a local shop and did much better at this than I did at the fairs, as I had a lot of repeat customers.
Good luckIt can be hard work but it was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done.

Hi, I am running a craft fair on 8 October in the essex area. Is that any good to you? Let me know if you would like more details.
I just tap in craft fairs and a county into yahoo and it comes up with a few sites that have calendars for events.Member 105 of 1% at a time - 23/100 :j0 -
I used to work for this company https://www.gopak.co.uk and they often had seconds which were much cheaper - worth ringing and asking
Having said that, their 4' Economy table is only about £60 brand new. :j0
