Sterilizing fluid question-Help please!

Could any one help and advise me? A couple of days ago my anti-bacterial kitchen spray (the clear stuff) ran out, and like a good little money-saver I refilled it with half a diluted own brand baby steralizing tablet I had left over from the baby years. Then I remembered that the box says discard after 24 hrs, so my question is can I treat the stuff as if it were actually anti-bac spray- ie it lasts for weeks, or is it already 'past it's use by date'. ? I am wondering if I am now just spraying my surfaces with an inert mixture or worse 3 day old water?Any advice very much appreciated!

I've always used water and a cloth to clean my work surfaces. I use a pastry scraper to get dough off the surface.

  • It will probably smell after a couple of days - I use them to sterilise my nebuliser masks and they have a bit of a whiff after leaving overnight.
If you have a poundland near to you they have Stardrops hard surface cleaner, Anti bac and bathroom cleaner in spray bottles x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate is a stable sterilising chemical, so a solurion of it should be fine for a few days in your spray bottle :D
