Hi,
I just wanted to make you all aware that Long Tall Sally are breaking the law re returning sale items ordered on line.
On their web site and on the documentation recieved with the goods they state......
Sale Returns Policy
We operate a policy of no return or exchange on Sale items £15.00 and under. All other Sale items will be refunded if returned within 7 days of receipt. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Under the Distance Selling regulations 2000 they cannot do this! You are entitled to a full refund on any item costing any amount if it was ordered on line or over the phone if returned within 7 days in the state it was recieved - do not let them get away with this.
I rang to tell them I was returning 2 sale items costing £10 each and was told I could not! I told them that I could quoting the regulations to them and they backed down and said I could have a credit but not a refund.
After complaining to Trading Standards they have now refunded me in full!!
They need to be named and shamed!

Are Trading Standards going to contact them to advise them on how they should reword their policy?0

So, you are still entitled to the full protection of legislation.Under the Distance Selling regulations 2000 they cannot do this! You are entitled to a full refund on any item costing any amount if it was ordered on line or over the phone if returned within 7 days in the state it was recieved - do not let them get away with this.
So you are entitled to the protection given by the DSRI rang to tell them I was returning 2 sale items costing £10 each and was told I could not! I told them that I could quoting the regulations to them and they backed down and said I could have a credit but not a refund.

Possibly a case of staff not fully understanding the DSR rather than a deliberate attempt by the store to flout the law. After all, many of the posters on here mis-quote and/or misunderstand the DSR and/or the SOGA.
Good to have the heads up though, thanks :TWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
