Which barbeque to buy?

I'd like to find a half-drum style charcoal barbeque, but can't locate any info on which make or model is robust enough to last more than just a few fires. (Don't really like the Weber One-Touch barbeques, i know they're well built but i just can't come to terms with the cheap looking stand and wheel setup).
Can anyone recommend a brand who produce a solid half-drum charcoal bbq that they themselves have used and that if possible won't break the bank?

Years ago we made one out of an old oil drum, cut it in two have welded some legs and hinges on to it so it stood straight and had a lid, best BBQ ever shame to let it go.0

Diable, that's exactly what i wanted to do. My old man made one the same way years ago down south, only i can't for the life of me find either an oil drum supplier or retailer or anyone who can hack one in half here in London.
Need to figure the welding angle as well but i know someone who knows someone with an arcwelding fixation so i'm sure i might be able to convince them to slap a set of metal legs on a drum for a few bob
Homemade would most definitely be the best way to go. I just don't want to end up walking into a place like argos planning to buy a barbeque <:/0 -

Building sites - brilliant! Hadn't even crossed my mind!! i'll get up the road and have a word with the gents working in Farringdon, there must be something floating around up there, or failing that, will have a word with a friend who works in cabling, he spends eight hours around building suppliers every day. Thanks for the reminder!!
Don't think i'll be venturing out to the NH carnival this year, although not a bad idea at all... too much chaos going on without even considering trying to nick a barbie in broad daylight0 -

I rent, otherwise i'd be all over the Brick barbie option! Landlord would have a fit if i constructed something on his landing, so i'll have to wait until those house prices come down a little more or the banks ease up a bit on their lending before i put down more permanent BBQ roots.0
