need help in inheritance exchange rates!

Hello. I am not too sure if this is the correct place to post this, but i really could do with some of your help please!!

My mum's family live in Austriallia, and unfortunally, her father has died leaving his property and money evenly split to her and her brother.
Her brother lives over there aswell, so he has managed to sell my Grandad's house and split 50 - 50 everything he has so they can both get an even share. The thing is that all the money is in Austraillan dollars, and she needs it converted to pound sterling. I was just wondering if any of you knew the best was to do this? We are not talking a huge amount of money, maybe around £40,000 each, but obviously, with the exchange rate, she could lose a good few grand just converting it over.
If any of you have any advice, i would very much aprechaite it!
