E13/04: £198 return to NYC, travel 10-30 April

Speech-Mark-Left.gif Insert by Martin:

This really is a cracking price from American Airlines, headlining at £198 including taxed to New York, though there are other destinations too. The flights (varying prices) are from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow to New York for £198 including taxes.

The offer ends midnight Thursday and travel must be completed by 30 April so you need to go quick.

Important Note: These flights have relatively strict conditions and limited flexibility. While its likely to be the cheapest, it isn't by definition. Before booking read How To Find A Cheap Flight article, which details how to check the alternatives - and includes the right websites to use to find the cheapest at speed.

To celebrate their upcoming 80th birthday, American Airlines are offering flights from London Heathrow to New York JFK for £198 including all taxes.

See their website for more details.

Must be booked by 13 April (Thursday) - hope it helps someone. Wish I could take advantage of it!

Just bumping this message to make sure it's seen by those who might be interested! :)
  • Great deal except the restrictions are such that many people cannot take advantage of it. I mean..........April 30th..........i need to give notice to work before I can swan off somewhere.

I suppose a lot of people will be off at easter and surrounding dates anyway....so instead of lazing about the garden or visiting retail outlets and DIY stores....jump on a plane....shop til you drop and count the savings.....I don't have to swan off work....I just can't afford it....lol
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

That's quite annoying as we are going to San Francisco in 2 weeks time and I though we had cheap flights. As an academic exercise I plugged in our travel details for the dates and lo and behold - it isn't significantly cheaper - hurrah! Not that I could have chnaged our flights anyway...but it's nice to know!
  • Hello, and all that, first post.

Just tried to take advantage of this offer. I can go anytime in April, for any length of time. However I've trired about 30 different options, ie 1 day, 3 day, weekends, bank holidays, etc and so far the cheapest I can get for London to any NY aiport is £753. Can anyone tell me how to take advantage of this so called offer?

    Cheers

    Jon

When the offer was first publicised, I checked and it came up as £197.60 for the dates I tried, which were 17-24 April (as well as various others), I think.

Never mind. The offer must have finished early, (or I'm a pudding).

For LHR to NYC on the 17/4 to 24/4 the total cost for 2 people is £1864

A tip to find the cheap fares: when you go to https://www.americanairlines.co.uk and click on the booking page, and click the 'Dates Flexible' tab at the top. I am getting flights from Heathrow on 17 through to 20 April (and returning a week later) at £197.40. I'm just annoyed that I have too much to do for university at the moment and can't take advantage of the offer! :(
