Im trying to search for best priced train tickets (southampton to London). Which is the best train ticket search website anyone???

I'd say National Rail as they tend to search all sites combined and give the best prices out of them all.

Cross country trains is certainly turning out to be offering the discounts they claim.

It's offering best return price so far: £23.25 return next day, so thanks!

They all show the same fares if you ask them the same question (which isn't always as obvious as you might think though). Given that they all search the same database that's not surprising. It depends which you find easiest to use really.

You will only get the cheapest ADVANCE fares on the websites of the train company operating the route and ONLY if you are using a single operator. You won't normally see these fares on the Nationalrail or Trainline websites.

It can be chepaer to buy separate tickets for each train operating company on your journey.

Any website should be able to sell you that ticket at that price - as will the ticket office on the day. It's the standard walk on off peak railcard fare.
