I didn't think of redundancy (although really don't think they need someone full time for the position). I just didn't think it was 'right' to advertise a job, before you've already made the decision to get rid (which they already had or why else would they advertise?)

No, I wouldn't want to go back there. I didn't enjoy it and was looking for something else anyway, they simply beat me to it. I have put that behind me, the only thing that is still annoying me (and I think always will) is they have possibly messed up my future by saying 'poor performance'. It's not something I am likely to be happy about when in both of my previous jobs I worked hard and never had this issue.

Anyway. It's over, I don't intend to pursue it anymore, i'm well rid of them.
I phoned the Job Centre at 8am and asked if it was possible for them to either phone me back or if I could go in to discuss a claim as I only have a mobile and they said they had to check to make sure I had no other way of phoning?! They have yet to phone back and i'm not even sure they got my number. I will ring again shortly and see what they say.

Hi hun - I have lots that I could say about how you have been treated and think it's despicable but unfortunately they can get away with it - including I'm afraid, advertising your job before they got you out. (I'm not going to say "move on" as 1) I loathe the expression although not the sentiment - and 2) it's still early days for you so it is totally understandable that it's fresh in your mind and you are still plagued with what ifs?".)

Nevertheless, what I want to say quickly is - did you phone the Jobecentre or the New Claims number - the latter will take your number and should (if I remmember correctly) call you back on a mobile. The number is 0800-055-6688 (probably not free from your mobile?). The JCP will probably tell you that this is who/where you should call.

    Thank you for your reply.

This is the number I phoned. The first time I phoned (8am) the girl I spoke to said she had to get permission to phone me back as they needed to check I had no landline and said it would take 2 minutes. I said that was fine, but she then hung up before taking my number!
I called back again later and think I spoke to the same person. Anyway, she took my details and phoned me back, she saw I had a claim before so the call was only 10 minutes long. I have a meeting/appointment with them on Monday so will see what they say about it then.

I have kept a record of the jobs i've applied for in the last couple of weeks, so will add to that and take it with me, although last time they didn't seem to need that.

The chances are that they won't want to check your jobsearch activities until your claim is up and running which will happen anyway even though as you were "dismissed", they will check with your ex-employers as to why. As for them, don't give the barstewards the chance to say anything about your performance, poor or otherwise, by - if you can avoid it at all - not naming them as a referee.

One good thing about going onto JSA is that - when you (as you very soon will) get a new job - any P45 bumf will come from the JSA, leaving your most recent job almost totally out of the equation, just where it should be.
