Painting over felt tip !!

Any ideas on how to cover up felt tip drawings kindly done by a young lad we've been looking after ?
OH has been painting over it but it still seeps through -it'll take loads of paint at this rate. Only other thing I can think of is to paste some more wallpaper over it and start again unless someones got a solution

    Hi

Buy a spray can or tin of 'coverstain', it is sold at most DIY outlets. Follow the instructions then emulsion over as normal.

I'd clean the area as well as possible with a wet cloth or sponge. The apply bleach with a cotton bud to the affected area. Then paint over it.

I got quite adept at it when DD was 1.5-2 years old. It was back biro that I couldn't shift - most everything else came off with eithe relbow grease or bleach. Crayon comes off with boiling hot water - need to wear rubber gloves!

if you have any undercoat - dab a bit of that on and that will hold the stain back
make sure it's a solvent based one rather than waterbased , just emulsioning over it will never hold the stain back

    Thanks all for your help.

Least it doesn't look as if OH will be upstairs for a week painting over it.

I'll confess up front I'm not sure that this will work on indelible ink, but I once had almost the same issue as Doozergirl - mine was Blue biro ink on wallpaper.

Don't know where I got the tip, maybe Take-a-break magazine or somewhere, but for some reason 'spray it with hair-spay' came into my mind. I did, and it worked!! In fact, it came off a treat, left it like the ink was never there, and with no damage to the wall-covering.

Might be worth giving it a go on indelible ink ...

If you have any white oilbased undercoat to hand, put than on the biro mark, leave to dry, then touch up with your emulsion, it wont bleed through.
