A traffic warden wouldn't put a sticky label on a car, would they?

Got to work this morning and there was nowhere for me to park, so I parked just outside the parking garage, being careful not to obstruct anyone, making sure that the delivery lorries could get in, until one of my colleagues left for the day and I could take his space.

Anyway, went out 2 1/2 hours later to find what looked like an oversized hand written address label stuck to my windshield saying "no parking, car will be towed away!" Would this be from a parking official or would it be some busybody with nothing better to do with their time?

It took forever to get the damn thing off, because it was warm the bloomin thing stuck like glue!

It doesn't sound like an official notice. Not only that, but it seems that they may have committed criminal damage by gluing the notice to your windscreen.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • That's what I thought. I could understand if it was a piece of paper and a tiny bit of tape and I was obstructing every car from getting in or out, but I was literally parked as close to the wall, and as parallel to the wall as possible. I may have been sticking out a tad, but nothing that would obstruct anyone. The only vehicles that could get in or out the road behind me were mobility scooters, and even then there was loads of room to get in and out (you could park at least two cars side by side behind me).

Someone did that to me when I was parked in a private car park - five big notices saying "NO PARKING - THIS IS A PRIVATE CAR PARK" very, very stuck on the windows.

Unfortunately for the person who did it, my mother-in-law was his boss and it was her car park I was on. He spent his lunch hour scraping it off!
