Its not something ive tried personally but yeah. I see no reason why that wouldnt work (Though how your going to get sound through the tv or whatever is another problem):idea:0

Sound should be no problem through the HDMI.
Not tried iPlayer, but definitely had success playing blu rays on laptop through HDMI on tv."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I was more thinking if it was using an analogue pc connection. But sure ~ a hdmi would work fine (If it has one, most laptops dont that ive seen):idea:0

I assumed the OP's had since they specifically mentioned using HDMI cable. Mine's got an HDMI socket."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Excuses, excuses,
But quite right about the sound. At the moment with mine putting sound through TV is fine but no obvious way of getting digital sound to AV tuner. Unfortunate I don't have any digital sound out on my laptop."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Your av tuner doesnt have 'HDMI IN' sockets that are PCM compatible? If you did it 'should' work fine:idea:0

If only it was as up to date as my laptop (;)), no unfortunately. At moment it's connected to other devices via optical. Unfortunately my laptop doesn't have optical output. No big deal though and not that bothered at moment which is why I've not put much effort into sorting it out. All its' connections need sorting out to be honest. Probably a weekend job.
