Just want to post a little complaint about LA Fitness. I recently switched my bank account using the Alliance and Leicester switching service. Out of the dozen or so companies that I make direct debit payments to, all of them were able to deal with switching my DD over, all except LA Fitness. For some reason a new DD was not set up by them and so I missed a gym membership payment. I then went into the gym that month, and paid the month's membership by debit card. I wasn't able to fill in a direct debit form there and then as I didn't have my new account details with me, so I planned on doing it next time. The next direct debit payment was again missed, but I paid again by debit card shortly after it was due, and set up the direct debit.
So, everything is all paid up, and it was all LA Fitness's fault anyway. However despite everything being settled, I am now getting harassing and scary phone calls from ARC debt collectors. My partned took the first phone call and when asked, the person on the phone would only say he was calling from "ARC". I wasn't in at the time and we had to google the phone number he gave to find out they are debt collectors for LA Fitness.
I'm sure it will all be sorted eventually, I just wanted to make public my annoyance at the way LA Fitness treat their members.
