home made baby rusks

has anyone made homemade baby rusks as described by annabel karmel?

its basically wholemeal bread, cut into slices and then brushed with a marmite and water mix and then baked.

what bread should i use? is shop bought bread full of suger/salt? should i go the whole hog and make bread too? what recipe? i dont work so have plenty of time to make it from sratch if need be but not sure what recipe and what type of bread to use.

    Hiya Karnam.

    I have made these for the little one before now and he loved them. I didn't make my own bread though as I am useless at it but if you have a bread maker you can have a go. I used my local baker's bread and uncut loaves from supermarkets, which seemed to do the trick nicely! They have less preservatives in as they are not intended to be kept more than a day or so.
