Oh God, those really made me laugh. Especially 11, 14, 15 and definately 18. :rotfl: 11's not completely true for me but it did give me a giggle. 14 is though, I'm terrible for getting excited over my ability to engine brake up the the 30 sign on the way into to town. As long as I'm doing 50 mph, I can time it perfectly without even thinking. Now I just have to learn it for 60 mph. That's a bit sad, isn't it?
:rotfl:
Here's another one:
Your family daren't buy car insurance without consulting you first, for fear you never speak to them again for depriving you of your fun.So true for me.

Hi. How about adding (and this is me sad to say)
You get excited about finding a coin on the street!
I'm on over £30 this year already (I love living in central London :rotfl::rotfl:)
Also for the non drivers - when you spend so long looking up best train/coach/flying ticket and or combo for every trip you spend less time travelling
I wish Martin had never introduced me to breaking tickets :eek:0 -

Yes, even if it's just 1p!I'm on over £30 this year already (I love living in central London :rotfl::rotfl:)
Becky, that is so unfair! I'm probably up to £2 as I only ever find 1 or 5p's. Bf gives me all 1,2 and 5p's he finds though, bless him.
A couple of times I've gotten really upset as I've seen someone bend down on the street to pick up coins just in front of me! Then I've wondered if they're MSErs :rotfl:DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Running round central London early on Sunday morning is the key (drunk people drop money - but you have to get out before the cleaners) and outside tube stations is good too, I found a £5 note on the floor of leicester sq once too0 -
When you get more excited that a thread you started made it into the weekly email than you get about Christmas.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

:rotfl: Great thread - definitely one for scared and stressed newbies to read!
My best mate asked me to be her 'financial advisor' on our last night [strike]painting the town red[/strike] in with six bottles of Clubcard double-up wine.I am sending her weekly e-mails with instructions on moneysaving: week one was to join MSE and a cashback site plus a link to the SoA calculator.

Brilliant post Dinah, i can empathise with all of those. Which reminds me to get listing on Ebay again and Amazon!
Everyone thinks i am bargain and points mad....have even got hubby trained to look for Walkers codes at work and he cuts out vouchers from discarded mags...Who would ever have thought it of Mr. B?:T:rotfl:
He's shocked me these past couple of weeks with his money saving habits.:jBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
9 and 18 resonate particularly with me. If I see my OH has a £2 coin in his change I swap it for two £1s, just so I can put it away! And everyone I know - family, friends, colleagues - knows who Martin is, no clarification needed!
And how about: When someone compliments your new dress, you can't resist telling them about how you got it in the sale online, with a free delivery code and cashback, so it REALLY only cost £3.50!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
They are all so funny, but sooooo true! Love it!The very best things in life ... are free!
