It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!

Hi jaxx,
Make the burgers in the same way you would beef burgers but add a couple of teaspoons of mint sauce to the mince and mix in well. If you wanted you could use finely chopped fresh mint but I prefer mint sauce.
There's an earlier thread that may help:
Lamb Burgers ???
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Hi,
I make my lamb burgers by throwing the mince into a mixing bowl, adding some chopped mint, a drizzle of oil and then cracking a small egg on top of that before mixing it all together.
Mine tend to look rustic as I do them fairly thick and not perfectly round. I find the trick to cooking them is to put them onto a very hot pan before they go in the oven or under the grill.0 -
I blitz an onion and a slice of bread in the food processor, add mince, 1 egg and a good dollop of mint sauce. Shape them and cooc - I oven bake mine and they hold together really well0

Some general tips on making burgers ...
BURGERS
METHOD
Divide the mince into parts. Squeeze each part into a ball and then flatten it out into a disc. Make them firm, so that they don’t fall apart. Make them chunky, as thin edges will cook too quickly.
Put the oil into a frying pan on a medium heat. Fry the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side.
ADDITIONS & ALTERNATIVES
Add some finely chopped onion. Add some herbs.
Use minced lamb, pork or turkey, whichever is cheaper, instead of minced beef. If you use minced lamb, add some finely chopped mint, dried mint or some mint sauce. If you use minced pork, add some finely chopped apple or some apple sauce. If you use minced turkey, add some cranberry sauce.
If you need to make the mince go further, add some grated carrot.
If the burgers won’t hold together, add some beaten egg. If you make the mixture too wet, add some breadcrumbs.
Cook the burgers under a preheated medium grill for about 5 minutes on each side instead of frying. If the mince is very lean, you might need to coat the burgers with a little oil.
TIPS
When squeezing the mince, imagine it's someone you don't like.
Chilling the burgers in the fridge helps them to hold together whilst cooking.
You can make the burgers using a burger press. This is a round mould, which you fill with the mince and then press it into uniformly sized burgers. However, hand made burgers have more ‘rustic charm’ and there’s no washing up.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
