Play.com Card

How have people been finding this in terms of getting accepted?

Has anyone been successful even with other high-limit MBNA cards in their wallet?

Thanks!

  • I got accepted with a limit of 1800.

Mind, I got accepted for the Barclaycard Goldfish card the previous month with a limit of 5000!

Not sure how they work these things out! Oh well, at least I got it, 1800's quite enough for me (only want it for the PlayPoints!).

Just how long is a while? I applied for a play.com card (cant remember the exact date) but just checked my credit report online and it said that it was checked on 30.09. How long is the usual wait?

When I took out my very first MBNA card a number of years ago (2005 I think) it took around six weeks to process my application.

They are probably just doing background checks with bank / employer etc. Happens to some applications, might just be a random exercise, might be due to a less than perfect credit score, but credit card companies on the whole tend to be much faster at saying "NO" than "YES" ;)

    - al4x if you were accepted with that as your first credit card I would imagine you will have had some credit history in the form of 1) being on the electoral role, 2) having held a current account for a while and 3) having a contract mobile phone. This will provide a credit history & score ;)
