Ionic Toothbrushes

Having had my 6 monthly check up yesterday and the usual scrape of plaque even though I do have a good dental regime, floss clean and mouthwash the stuff that's "supposed" to remove much more plaque.

I had a browse on the net to see if I could reduce it and I came across something called a ionic toothbrush.

Its a interesting idea and supposedly had good clinical reviews although the only one I could find was from India and although it did give a good outcome but only had 20 subjects.

Anybody on here use said toothbrush and if so have you noticed any difference ?

    Never heard of it!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

You obviously don't read the Indian journal of dental research :D

I have ordered one anyway just to see what happens at my next check up

Never heard of an ionic toothbrush before but have heard of an ionic hairdryer - my friend has one & loves it!

Amazon has a few customer reviews for the toothbrush - here
  • "Unlike regular toothbrushes which try to force plaque off the teeth by friction, the IONIC brush makes the teeth let go of plaque, like turning off a magnet! Plaque gets released even in hard to reach areas! The Ionic Toothbrush is clinically proven to be far more effective than a regular toothbrush and users report cleaner, whiter teeth and little or no plaque when visiting their dentist!"

It's just a shame that the website looks about as trustworthy as a man wearing a big sign around his neck saying "I steal from Grannies!"

I recently purchased a Higher Nature ionic toothbrush about a month ago and I love it! Think they are a UK company so it was really easy to order from their website and they come in a wide range of colours like red, pink and purple yey!

Couldnt live without it now (well maybe a bit dramatic). It really does work and I find im not using toothpaste and if I am its only the tiniest amount or a mixture of salt and bicarb (i think). Will be really handy for camping.

For under £15 I would say its far better than an electric brush and much better for the envirnoment, as you only need to replace the heads and no charging required! First time I used it I was really shocked that I had that 'dentist clean feeling' and now its just the 'norm', dont een get that fuzzy feeling halfway though the day.

Think there a really good investment and would highly recommed buying one.
