Egg PPI

Hi,

After much to'ing and fro'ing letters between myself and Egg, they have said they will not uphold my complaint as and I quote "I was made aware of my referral"

However the complaint I raised was regarding this was a single premium, to which interest was added without informing me, I was self employed within 7 months of taking the loan, therefore possibly not eligible to claim anyway and if anything they should refund on pro rata basis, it is now against the law to sell pre opted in PPI, rather the nowadays where you have to opt in multiple times.

I have received my SAR information and it clearly shows my employment status as "self employed" and the total amount paid is more than the original amount shown on my original paperwork.

Should I challenge them again or take it to the onbudsman and ask for compensation if they rule in my favour?

I have the name of the person who rejected my claim, not sure whether it would be worth asking for him directly to see what is going on.

nem,

    nem,

    Hi nem

    Hope your well.

If this was not a final decision, definately write back to them again and even send in a photocopy of what you received in your SAR and highlight the main parts like "self employed" etc.
If not then move on to the FOS and let the business know you are doing this, by also enclosing a copy of the FOS complaint form (completed), and the evidence in copies of what you have supplied the FOS.

Sometimes the business can still change their minds while your case is with the FOS, if they do and in your favour let the FOS know, otherwise stick to the FOS.

Hope this helps, and good luck.;)

    Hello Di,

Thank's for you advise as always,

I have a quick question for you, if you have a moment?

Would you say I have a case here and have you come across any similar successful claims?

    Hi Nem

In my personal opinion, its yes you do have a good chance here.;)

I know every case varies but you do have a good chance of winning this case, there are many like yourself who have been in the same situation as yourself and have been successful, just keep at them and don't give in is the best.;)
