Hi all
I'm due to be flying to Cuba Sunday July 19th but last Tuesday my offer was accepted on a flat. I've got myself in such a tizz about both the timing, and now, the recent Air France disaster (I've never been a nervous flyer) that I really, really don't want to go? The travel agent said I was entitled to £56 return and I paid £528. It's impossible to change the name as it's a scheduled flight. Could anyone help me? Are there any loopholes?
Thanks, much appreciated,
Danielle

It sounds like you have a non-refundable apex-type ticket. The £56 refund would be the tax that is refundable.
If you have travel insurance you would be able to claim for any medical reason for not travelling but not just because you don't want to travel.0 -
A lot of airlines won't refund.
You may get a credit note valid for 12 months to use at a later date.
To be honest though, someone just needs to give you a quick slap and tell you to get real, one plane crash does not mean yours is going to blow up !!!!!!!0 -
You are statistically 5 times more likely to die being hit over the head with a coconut, by a nun riding a unicylce than die in a plane crash.
Ok, I made that up.0 -

I think as other people have posted, you have no recourse.
You can cancel the flight and be subject to your contract with the airline and get a small amount of the cost back.
You have no rights if you paid for the service with credit/visa debit. no breach of contract and none of them cater for " i changed my mind"
No idea with insurance side but i assume that you wont get anywhere with that being that flight is still going, and doubt they will budge being you dont want to go due to a previous air disaster.
Credit note might be worth a shout. anyways good luck0
