Just a general post that I hope regulars will read so they can correct any misunderstandings they see on the forum.
There are two elements in the forum for looking after it

There are two elements in the forum for looking after it
- The Abuse Team
If you email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com the email goes to the abuse team. Their job is looking after the forum, and they are a paid professional team of part of full timers in my employ
Who are they: All are individuals who do not post on the forum in any other guise (thats part of the job) and therefore have no personalities on the forum and do not engage in debate.
None of them are board guides (or know board guides for that matter) The two teams are entirely seperate. They are led by the forum manager who is a full time member of my team.
When to report to them: As it says at the top of the site, if you spot a spam, illegal, offensive racist or libellous post. If you have questions about forum policy, your own profile or others. If you have a problem with any posters on the board (including board guides).
It should also be noted, as I know this is a point of confusion, that when you email abuse - ONLY the abuse team (and certain members of my MSE Towers full time staff when appropriate) see it, ie it does not go to board guides - Board Guides
This is a team of volunteers who kindly agree to help us keep individual board(s) running smoothly by helping stop duplicated threads, direct news users, and other general - non abuse related tasks (think NHS direct compared to the abuse teams 999).
Who are they: They're regular forumites who over the years have volunteered to help on different boards. They are not officially part of the MSE team, though we value their contributions greatly.
When to contact them: If you spot issues on an individual baord - such as regularly duplicated posts, thinks that should be made sticky. You're not sure what goes in each forum or what's appropriate or you need some guidance.

Martin, may I suggest that this thread be made a sticky? Otherwise I can see how this information will need repeating at some point soon, what with this forum getting bigger and bigger by the day.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

On the other hand I shan't waste a bg's time with an unnecessary PM, as the bg for this board AND Admin read the threads in here regularly.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
