Hi all,
I have posted on here before, but I'm mostly on the "Bankruptcy and living with it" board at the moment. I come needing advice.
My tenancy on my flat finishes soon, so the other half and I are looking to move, hopefully around the third weekend in August. He's bankrupt at the moment, being considered for Early Discharge (we're waiting to find out if he gets it or not) and in a full-time permanent job, and I'm unemployed having just finished my degree in Real Estate where there are zero jobs. I've signed up with some temping agencies, but had no bites as yet.
We have a guarantor (who happens to be a Chartered Surveyor), which should sweeten the deal, but how else can I get a landlord to take us as tenants? Would offering 3 months rent up front help? I will get work, of that I'm sure, plus I have savings to help with rent, but obviously with other half being undischarged from bankruptcy at the moment it doesn't go in our favour. We've been in this flat two years and never missed a rent payment, which should go in our favour.
Any pointers/advice on persuading a landlord to take us on as tenants much appreciated.
Thanks!
