if company is bought - is redundancy still available?

My husband's firm have gone into administration. There are a number of potential buyers, but it is likely that once they have bought the company (if they do) they will move the work to their own premises. This would be too far for my husband to commute. Can he still apply for a redundancy payment? Thanks

Possibly... how long has he worked there? has he been laid off?... check out Direct.gov.uk for information or try ringing ACAS 08457 47 47 47, but be prepared to wait , they are very busy.0

Should be eligible if the reason for the redundancy is the job changing locations.
The administrators may be able to lay off before the sale and the claim for the redundancy may have to go to the govement if the admin can't pay it.
Statutory redindancy is capped at £350 per year of service(more if over 42)0 -
If he has more than 2 years service he will be eligible for redundancy payment.
If he has a mobility clause in his contract of employment, he may be required to move or commute (depends on the wording). If no mobility clause then he should be able to claim redundancy.0 -
Many thanks all. direct.gov website was great, contained loads of really valid info, as did your replies. :-)0
