must learn to read, sorry!0 -
Thanks guys. My card is more then 60 days now unfortunately so it could cost me a lot to do it that way. Now, if I could somehow transfer the balance to his card (the seller - if he has one) then we might be in luck.
Unfortunately no - the Virgin 60 day rule applies to all types of BT including transfer from another card.
A loan might be next best option - as previously suggested check out the Loans board.0 -
The trouble is, how do I use the card without paying the large fees???
Someone has to pay the fees. Credit cards are not a charity thing you know.
So either you have to pay them or the seller will pay them (obviously not private one, he doesn't have the facility) and charge you accordingly.0 -

Even if your seller says they can't take a CC, they more than likely can and probably will do if push comes to shove. You should check with the vendor, even if they won't do it for free they might do it for a surcharge that may be cheaper than all the balance transfer fees.
Thanks but as you know now, it is private.0 -

Probably best to take this particular aspect to the loans board for better advice.
If you hadn't applied for the Tesco card, and you had a very good rating, it's possible you could have had 0% for 10 months for a 1% fee (and worry about shifting the balance next year) by going with the M&S card Sterling travellers cheque loophole. Not intended to make you feel worse...just to ask first before acting next time.
Thanks. This is quite interesting. I haven't actually activated the card yet so I guess I could cancel? I only applied a few days ago and haven't even got anything in the post yet. Should I call them to cancel and get the M&S one if possible?0 -

Thanks Yorkshireboy! This is very interesting. If I can get a loan and pay it off with only around £30 if interest then I would be well pleased with that. Thanks!0 -

I am very much aware of that. The whole idea for me is to find out how I can get the money and pay the lowest possible fees. Afterall, the website is called "moneysavingexpert" so it stands to reason as to why I would come on here and ask. I honestly don't see the point of this post.0 -

Yes I have taken that into consideration also. Hoping to pay it off within 6 months. Thanks for your help guys!0
