Sorry if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move if it is. I am unable to work at the moment and am on IB. My partner works and we claim working tax credit. Anyway since I stopped working the bills have been mounting up. The other day I found out about a scheme called welsh water assist to help with my water and I also found out about BT Basic to help with the phone bill. I was wondering if anyone knew of anymore schemes out there like this that might be of help?

Some of the fuel companies have social tariffs, but you have to ask. You may also be able to claim council tax benefit and/or housing benefit. These are all means tested, so your partner's income will be taken into account.

With the water board you usually have to have a medical condition that necessitates the constant use of the washing machine to qualify for help.

With BT basic I don't think you can have broadband enabled on the phone line.

Social tarrifs offered by energy companies are usually more expensive than online tarrifs so best to check out which online tarrif is best for you.
