Just found a great way of saving money at Marriott Hotels - apologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything about it previously.

Marriott do something called the 'Look No Further Guarantee' Bascially they guarantee that if you book a room direct with them (e.g on https://www.marriott.com) and find a cheaper price for the exact same hotel/room type/no. of nights within 24 hours, they will reduce the room rate to the cheaper price and reduce it by a further 25% too.

To explain - this is what I did...
I searched around for prices first, using marriot.com, phoning their general reservations and the hotel direct. I also tried hotel agents such as Superbreaks. I found that if I phoned the hotel direct they offered a price £1 per night cheaper than the marriott.com rate, and included breakfast. So I booked the online rate first, then phoned the hotel and made an identical reservation (you don't need to pay up front, but do need to leave card details to guarantee the room). Filled in the claim form as required on marriott.com and they emailed back within 24 hrs to confirm my discount of 25% and advised they would still honour the free breakfasts.

You do need to read the small print very carefully - https://www.marriott.com/look but it does work!

also if you look on ebay you can find marriott vouchers which will work with a two night or more stay. I used one a few months back and got £100 off the bill for a two night stay. I payed about £35 for the voucher so saved myself some cash!
