First post. Newbie. On a DMP but debt being sold to and new charges added

Hi i am on a DMP with Debtcare
I know stupid straight away but didn't know about the free ones untill recently viewing this site
I have been on it for approx 6 months payment £223 month for £30k debt with CC's and £10k Debt with Catalogues
First months payment was a fee and 2nd month 1/2 of it is a backout fee
Charging about £40 month fee so approx £180 going towards debts
So have been paying the DMP and some of the creditors have accepted the arrangements and stopped charging interest etc
Some have not however and 1 has recently passed the debt to Westcot debt collectors who have now added some charges to the balance £200 and are threatening court action (Phone calls 2-3 times a day)
What i would like to know is if my debt is just going to be sold on to new debt collectors and more fees added, what's the point being on a DMP when the debt is just going to go up rather than down.
Thanks
Newbie

What have westcot added charges for as this seems irregular? What sort of debt is it? And when did you open the account?

    Hi

You really do need to start by contacting one of the debt charities and shifting that DMP, then demand the paperwork back.

if the card was taken out after April 2007, there is less cover than of ald and most main stream lenders had their act together before that.

There is a chance the default letter is faulty, so you need to get that back.

I know what you mean regarding the interest and added charges, a couple of my creditors have charged me an arrangement fee and some still continue to add interest that is double my minimum payment.

Can you get out of the plan you are currently in and switch to a free service, at least you will be throwing aother £40 a month towards your debt. Have you tried writing to your creditors and asking them to reconsider their decision regarding freezing interest and charges, I have done but I'm still to hear of their reply.

    Hi RAS

What do you mean the default letter could be faulty
What implications would that have for me
    Thanks
